Safe and Sound Schools

Safe and Sound Schools is a non-profit organization committed to protecting students and educators from harm and violence in their schools. Founded in 2013 by Michele Gay and Alissa Parker, two mothers who lost their children in the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School, Safe and Sound Schools has since become one of the leading advocates for school safety in the United States.

Through its comprehensive approach to school safety, Safe and Sound Schools provides educators, parents, and students with the tools and resources they need to create safer learning environments. This includes training, technical assistance, and access to cutting-edge research and best practices.

At the heart of Safe and Sound Schools' mission is a commitment to collaboration and community. By bringing together stakeholders from across the education and safety fields, the organization is able to leverage the collective expertise of its partners to create innovative, evidence-based solutions to the complex challenges of school safety.

Whether working to improve physical security measures, promote mental health and wellness programs, or enhance emergency preparedness and response capabilities, Safe and Sound Schools remains steadfast in its dedication to ensuring that every student and teacher feels safe and supported at school.
